Why is our Organic Lavender Oil Special
Organic French Lavender Oil
Not all lavender is the same — and neither are the essential oils produced from it. The lavender oil you buy from one company may be completely different from ours.
Our Certified Organic Lavender Essential Oil is distilled from Lavandula angustifolia Miller, grown in the Haute Alpes region of France at around 2,500 feet above sea level. This high altitude environment produces a uniquely refined and therapeutic oil. The INCI name is Lavandula angustifolia Oil.
Our supplier sources exclusively from a long-established, family-owned distillery that has been cultivating lavender for generations. Their meticulous care for the land and their traditional distillation methods ensure a consistent, pure, and increasingly rare essential oil.
Lavender Essential Oil is one of the most widely used and best loved oils in aromatherapy. Countless books and studies explore its benefits, and for good reason.
This exceptional High Altitude Lavender Oil is renowned for its healing, relaxing, soothing, and restorative qualities. It is gentle enough for children and invaluable for everyday emergencies — especially when travelling. Many people find it helps ease discomfort, reduce itching, and support the skin’s natural healing process.
Real-world experiences
Over the years, we’ve seen remarkable results.
In the late 1990s, while selling at a craft market in Uxbridge, nurses from the local hospital became regular customers. When I finally asked why, they explained:
“We’re using your French High Altitude Lavender with women recovering from breast surgery. They seem to be healing faster and with less scar tissue.”
I’ve also experienced its benefits personally. In my 50s, I caught chickenpox and became very unwell. As soon as I could, my wife had me bathe in Lavender and Tea Tree oils. I didn’t develop a single scar, and the discomfort eased noticeably.

Why Lavender Oils Differ
It’s important to understand that lavender oils vary widely. Several factors influence the quality and therapeutic value of the final product:
The plant variety used
The region and climate in which it’s grown
Distillation methods
Whether the oil is adulterated or blended
Whether it comes from a single crop or mixed sources
Each of these elements affects the aroma, chemistry, and effectiveness of the oil — and naturally, the price.
For example, Lavandin oil (a hybrid) has a very different profile from true High Altitude Lavender. Lavandin often contains high levels of camphor, giving it a sharper, more eucalyptus-like scent. It can be stimulating rather than calming and may offer limited benefit for skin healing.
Our High Altitude Lavender Oil typically contains up to 52% of linalyl, terpenyl, lavandulyl, and geranyl acetates — the compounds responsible for its deeply relaxing, soothing, and rejuvenating effects.
A Final Note
Some suppliers don’t disclose the origin of their oils — whether through oversight or intention. As a result, prices can vary dramatically. When you compare reputable companies, you’ll notice their prices tend to align, reflecting the true cost of producing authentic, high-quality essential oils.
Do your research, trust your senses, and choose oils from suppliers who value transparency, purity, and sustainability.
