To be labelled “Certified Organic”, the entire process from seed to bottle must meet specific standards set by certification bodies. Here in the UK, the Soil Association and in Europe, ECOCERT. This means the farming methods must:-
- Protect the environment
- Preserve biodiversity
- Support ecological balance
In addition, no chemical solvents are used in the extraction process, which ensures the purity and integrity of the oil.
Our Pure essential Oils are predominantly Soil Association approved. A few, Rose Absolute and Jasmine, are not because they have to be! Solvent extracted.
However, current laws for product descriptions and labelling allow companies to classify some products as organic when they are very much not at all, they may, in fact, contain very little true organic material.
We (Us Them and U)
Choose organic for moral and therapeutic ones.
You can be assured that if we state organic on our literature or label the product as containing at least 95% organic material, and in reality, probably 100%. Unless otherwise stated. The majority of the products are 100% because we do not manipulate them in any way; what you purchase is in the same state that it left the producer, apart from being put into another container.
Inevitably, though, organic products tend to cost a little more.
In Summary
choosing organic is motivated by a desire for safer, reduced chemical exposure, ethical treatment of animals, and environmental sustainability, making it a holistic choice for health-conscious and environmentally aware consumers.
But, check labels and literature to ensure that if it says organic, it actually is.
