Hydrolats — also called floral waters, hydrosols or aromatic waters — are one of aromatherapy's best-kept secrets. Our range is 100% certified organic, produced from genuine single-origin distillation. They are cooling, soothing, calming, cleansing and completely different from the cheap "floral waters" sold elsewhere.
A genuine hydrolat is produced during the steam distillation of a plant to extract its essential oil. The steam carries microscopic droplets of essential oil suspended in water, collected separately. The result is a delicate, water-soluble aromatic liquid containing plant compounds the essential oil itself does not — making hydrolats uniquely gentle and deeply therapeutic.
Most high-street products labelled "rosewater" are simply water with a little essential oil and an emulsifier added. That is not a hydrolat. Ours are the real thing.
Uses include facial toners, hair rinses, body mists, eye compresses, minor wound care, and culinary applications — particularly our Rose Otto Hydrolat, which is extraordinary in food and drink.
