Rose Otto Hydrolat - Rosa damanscena

Care for your skin with this completely natural, organic product for skin and hair. It is made from fresh steam-distilled Rose petals.

Pure rosewater smells absolutely wonderful, and it is suitable for all skin types. It is known to have been valued for centuries by many cultures for its profound healing properties on both a physical and psychological level.  It gently cleanses and tones and can be used for all skin types. It will help maintain the pH balance and stimulate regeneration processes.

Rosewater is not sticky, has a wonderful cooling effect, is naturally toning, nourishing, and hydrating and is used extensively in perfumes and as an emollient in skin care products

This product is a true hydrolat, which is mainly water; it is gentle and safe to use; it is easily applied and absorbed. 

1. Skin care (all skin types, especially mature, dry, sensitive)

Rose Otto hydrolat is widely used as a natural toner because it:

• Helps retain moisture and hydrate the skin

• Is mildly astringent, helping even skin tone and improving appearance

As a facial toner: Spritz directly onto clean skin or apply with a cotton pad morning and evening before moisturising. Rose hydrolat is beautifully balancing for all skin types — it calms redness, hydrates dry patches and helps regulate oiliness. As a body and room mist: Spray liberally onto skin, into the air, or onto bed linen. The scent is gently uplifting and universally calming — perfect for creating a tranquil atmosphere.

As an eye compress: Soak cotton pads in chilled rose hydrolat and place over closed eyes for 10 minutes. Wonderfully soothing for tired, puffy or irritated eyes.

In cooking: This is one of our most extraordinary culinary ingredients. Add a splash to desserts, meringues, rice pudding, Turkish delight, cocktails, lemonade or Middle Eastern dishes. The flavour is exquisite — delicate, authentic and incomparably superior to synthetic rose flavouring. A little goes a long way.

For dogs: Rose hydrolat is gentle enough to use as a calming mist for anxious dogs. Spray lightly onto bedding or into the air — never directly onto their face. Or, soak a cotton pad in the Rose Otto and gently wipe around weepy eyes. 

For sensitive skin and children: Hydrolats are one of the gentlest forms of aromatherapy. Rose Otto Hydrolat is safe for use on sensitive skin, during pregnancy, and for children and the elderly — ideal if you find our Rose Absolute Essential Oil too concentrated.
