Technically, Jojoba is not an oil; it is a liquid wax ester

Jojoba imitates the skin's natural sebum, so it's perfect as a moisturiser to improve skin elasticity and suppleness. It contains alpha, delta, and gamma tocopherols, all forms of vitamin E.Its liquid wax esters are almost identical to those of our own skin.As we mature beyond early adulthood, our skin produces less and less lipids, resulting in wrinkles and more fragile, drier skin.Jojoba's rapid absorption just deep enough into the skin's surface layer provides all-day moisturising that leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth.

Jojoba gives a favourable texture to the skin. Unacceptable glare and greasy feel are suppressed. Jojoba is the closest thing to human skin (it mimics collagen) and has an excellent natural after feel. Jojoba spreads well, does not shine, is moist to the touch, and makes the skin softer, smoother and reduces fine-line wrinkles. 

As sebum production decreases, hair can become brittle and weak. Jojoba reconditions hair follicles and shafts for natural lustre and shine. Jojoba dissolves excess sebum and allows pores to transpire normally. It can also dissolve sticky residue from hair products and airborne pollutants.

As a carrier oil for aromatherapy: Jojoba is the gold standard carrier oil for diluting essential oils. It is technically a liquid wax, not an oil, which gives it exceptional stability — it does not go rancid like true oils, making it the ideal base for blends you want to keep. Use at 2–3% dilution (12–18 drops of essential oil per 30ml of jojoba) for massage or topical application.

As a facial oil: Apply 3–4 drops to clean skin morning or evening. Jojoba is the closest natural substance to your skin's own sebum, which means it is absorbed beautifully without clogging pores — suitable for all skin types including oily and acne-prone skin. For an anti-ageing treatment, add 2 drops of Frankincense or Neroli per 10ml.

For beard care: Jojoba is the base of our Beard Care Oil for good reason — it conditions facial hair and the skin beneath without greasiness. Apply a few drops after washing and work through the beard.

For hair and scalp: Massage into the scalp and through hair lengths as a deep conditioning treatment. Leave for 20 minutes or overnight, then shampoo with our Organic Aloe Vera Shampoo. Excellent for dry, frizzy or damaged hair.

As a makeup remover: Apply a small amount to a cotton pad and gently wipe away makeup, including waterproof mascara. Follow with our Organic Cleansing Lotion for a thorough double-cleanse.
