Relaxing, Soothing and Restoring

Lavender Essential oil has many uses and is one of the most popular and well-known essential oils. There is a wealth of information available about lavender oil, and many books have been written on the subject.Lavender HA is great for children; always carry a bottle around with you for little emergencies, especially when on holiday. It may also relieve pain and itching, as well as speed up the healing process.

(I have seen evidence of this: in the late 90's we used to sell in Uxbridge at a regular craft market. Over a few months, nurses from Uxbridge Hospital were coming to me regularly to buy our French HA Lavender. Eventually, I asked them why ... "We are using it with ladies who have had breast surgery, they seem to be healing much quicker and with less scar tissue")

(In my 50's, I caught Chickenpox. I was very ill. However, as soon as possible my wife got me out of bed and made me bathe in Lavender and Tea tree. I did not get one spot scar, and it also eased the discomfort.)

Most importantly, you should realise this key thing:-

Not all Lavender oils are the same in many ways.

The Oil may be distilled from a different plant variety

The plant may be grown in a different location and in a different climate.

After distillation, the resulting oil may be adulterated.

The oil may be a blend of different Lavenders (not from one single crop)

All of these aspects will change the nature and therapeutic properties of your oil, not to mention the price.

For example, the 'quality' of a lavandin oil will be totally different from a High Altitude oil. the Lavandin oil may smell more like Rosemary or Eucalyptus because of the high camphor content. These oils will be stimulating (not relaxing you) and may have very little benefit on a skin rash or scar. Some suppliers do not tell you the source of their oil, perhaps for their own reasons or just plain ignorance. Therefore, you will notice huge differences in the price paid for any pure essential oil. Do some research and notice that there are a group of reputable companies whose prices for a product are fairly similar.

How to Use Lavender Haute Alpe Essential Oil

In a diffuser: Add 4–6 drops to your diffuser with water. Lavender is the quintessential evening oil — ideal for winding down before bed, calming a busy household, or creating a peaceful atmosphere in any room. Run for 30–60 minutes.

Topical application: Dilute 2–3 drops in 10ml of a carrier oil such as our Organic Jojoba Oil or Sunflower Seed Oil. Apply to pulse points, temples or the area of concern. Lavender is one of the gentlest essential oils for skin application, but always patch test before first use.

In the bath: Blend 4–6 drops with a tablespoon of carrier oil, then add to warm running water for a deeply relaxing aromatic soak. One of the finest ways to unwind after a long day.

For massage: Add 12–18 drops per 30ml of carrier oil (2–3% dilution) for a calming full-body massage. Our Relaxing Massage Oil and Sleep Massage Oil both feature Lavender as a key ingredient if you prefer a ready-made blend.

For sleep: Place 1–2 drops on a tissue and tuck inside your pillowcase, or use our Sleep Synergy Blend in a diffuser for an expertly crafted bedtime blend. Our Sleep Roller Ball is also a customer favourite for pulse-point application before bed.

For headaches: Apply diluted lavender oil to the temples and back of the neck at the first sign of tension. Our Head Tension Roller Ball contains lavender as a core ingredient and is ready to use instantly.

For skin: Lavender is renowned for supporting skin healing, soothing irritation and reducing the appearance of scars. Our Rose and Lavender Moisturiser and Rose and Lavender Moisturising Oil harness these properties in a ready-to-use skincare format.

Blends well with: Roman Chamomile, Bergamot, Clary Sage and Frankincense.

Safety: For external use only. Always dilute before skin application. Not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy without professional advice. Keep away from children and pets. If using on children over 2 years, use at half the adult dilution rate.
